Gauze Blankets
Cotton gauze blankets have excellent moisture absorbency and breathability. It is a material that is gentle on the skin, but we thoguht it would be even more comfortable if it were made using SASAWASHI. We started the development of the fabric with this idea in mind. Since this was the first attempt to make gauze fabric using SASAWASHI, we repeatedly made prototypes, changing the yarn count and composition by hand. We spent a lot of time trying to find the right balance between the feeling, thickness, and usability of the fabric. Then, we decided to use half SASAWASHI and half cotton, remove the fluff from the cotton yarn, and weave it into a five-layer gauze. The five-ply gauze is soft and airy, while the SASAWASHI absorbs and releases moisture.
